Ok, I admit I used "Granny Smith bright GREEN" apples, and it appears I forgot to peel them .. YIKES, that's some seriously GREEN apple pie ..

The pie pincushion makes a great gift for your embroidery friends .. and your sewing guild buddies! How many quilters do you know? Ohhhhh .. here's another SWEET stocking stuffer!
Made in-the-hoop with fleece or felt, each pie pincushion stitches in less than 6 minutes .. so filling up the bakery takes no time at all! The "pastry crust" is woven ~ it looks just like the "REAL" thing that Grandma used to make, and it's REALLY simple! Here's a close-up ... how CUTE!!
You choose your cotton "fruit" fabric, and some felt .. easy peasy!! The "fruit" fabric can be any fabric you choose ~ the background fabric is also used in the pie:

1) I used Wilton Round Baking and Craft Cups ~ they are available at Joanns, Michaels, Hobby Lobby etc in the Wilton baking section OR via www.wilton.com 2) the MSRP of the (12) Wilton Baking Cups is $9.99. I used a 40% off coupon, so each cup costs $0.50 3) the berries-on-top are from assorted Thanksgiving and Christmas springs, and the blueberries are pom-poms! 4) one-half of (1) 2 1/2" styrofoam ball is needed .. 5) yes, the pie is "stuck" to the silicone baking cup .. after trying EVERY adhesive in my home, I found a small piece of "foam" carpet tape does the trick! I purchased the carpet tape at the dollar store years ago ~ I know Target and Home Depot both carry Carpet tape! Gayle discovered that Silicone Caulk works great too ~ THANKS Gayle! 6) the "lattice" pie crust and edging is created by using pinking shears / pinking rotary cutter!
